I hope you are enjoying the last few weeks of summer before school and sports begin. I want to explain how the recommendations made by the NC DHHS and Governor Cooper regarding Covid-19 protocols will impact the upcoming athletic season.
Based on the current recommendations from NC DHHS and Governor Cooper, Corvian Community School is requiring that K-12 students and staff wear facial coverings while in the building. The athletic department will follow the same guidelines for indoor practices and games at Corvian. Parents and fans will also be required to wear masks and observe social distancing when attending indoor sporting events. Masking will not be required for outdoor events as NC DHHS is not currently recommending that masks need to be worn outside. These guidelines will take effect on Monday, August 2, 2021.
Coaches will continue to encourage all athletes to wash their hands regularly and maintain distance as needed. The athletic department will ensure that locker rooms, bleachers, and equipment are sanitized regularly. Individuals who are showing symptoms of Covid-19 should not attend practices or games.
The athletic department will continue to monitor this situation and we will inform you of changes as they occur. We look forward to seeing you at practice soon!
