Christopher Martin

Christopher Martin, a proud native of Akron, Ohio, earned a Bachelor of Arts from Upper Iowa University in 1996, with a Dual Major in Social Science/ Secondary Education and a Comprehensive Social Studies Licensure. He furthered his education with a Master of Arts in Education in 2003 from the University of Akron, which includes Educational Leadership Doctoral hours, Principalship, and Superintendent Licensures. 

With a career spanning 22 years in The Akron Public Schools, Christopher has been a dedicated educator. His teaching portfolio includes United States History, AP United States History, African American Studies, and Street Law (9-12). He also served as an Intervention Specialist and assistant football coach at his alma mater, Akron North High School, where he was the department chair for students with disabilities. After leaving the classroom, Christopher Martin became a High School and Middle School Assistant Principal and later an Academy Principal at Akron Buchtel Community Learning Center, leading the 9th grade and Huntington Academy of Global Industry and Design. When Christopher returned home to Akron from Upper Iowa University, he knew he wanted to give back to his community by helping young people live up to their potential by achieving their goals. 

Christopher and his wife, Chanda, are looking forward to being fixtures in the Charlotte community. Their blended family consists of five adult children. Christopher enjoys classic films, volunteering in the community, and is an avid Cleveland sports fan. 

Jen Rolls

Jen Rolls

Jen Rolls holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a Master’s degree in Education and Human Development from the University of Colorado, Denver, where her focus on adolescent brain development and executive function skills informs her approach to guiding students toward college readiness.

With over twenty years of experience, Jen has served in various roles in all levels of education, from teaching and coaching middle school students to her most recent position as the Associate Director of Family Engagement at Davidson College. Her tenure with Quantum Learning took her across the globe, teaching students in the US, Malaysia, Singapore, and Hong Kong, where she emphasized building relationships, communication skills and literacy. Prior to relocating to North Carolina, Jen served as the Dean of Academic and Career Advising at Colorado Early Colleges, where she led the academic advising team, designed and taught college readiness courses, and empowered students to achieve post-secondary credentials upon high school graduation. Certified as an Academic Life Coach, Clifton Strengths Coach, and Global Career Development Facilitator, Jen is deeply committed to helping students understand their unique strengths and learning styles to achieve academic excellence.

Jen values a school environment where students and families feel a sense of belonging, safety, and community, viewing education as more than just a curriculum but as a transformative journey toward personal and academic growth. She is excited to serve on the administrative team at Corvian Community School and contribute to the mission and vision of supporting the whole child and developing high achieving, happy, healthy students.
